In a bustling, creative and vibrant city like London, people are constantly looking for new and exciting experiences to indulge in. Live cinema seems to be one of the latest cultural innovations going down a storm, as audiences seek more intimate alternatives to the sterile cinema multiplexes continually churning out formulaic blockbuster films. The latest film to receive the live cinema treatment is ’90s comedy musical classic Sister Act which catapulted Whoopi Goldberg into superstardom. Amacoast Cinema has partnered with Uplifted Voices to present Sister Act Live Choir, a pop up live cinema that will boast a choir made up of 35 gospel singers and full band, as they accompany the onscreen nuns with live performances of songs from the film soundtrack. The screenings will take place at Central Hall Westminster (CHW), one of London’s most spectacular and historic venues. Fans of the film will be encouraged to sing along to popular songs from the soundtrack like I Will Follow Him and My God. Dates are: 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th of April. Tickets are priced from £35 and can be booked here.
