The trailer for the new documentary chronicling the intimate and professional life of Whitney Houston has just been released. ‘Whitney: Can I Be Me’ is directed by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield and combines intimate, never-seen- before footage of the late singer with spine-tingling live performances that caused critics to crown her ‘The Voice’ during her heyday. The documentary received respectable reviews when it was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival last month, although Broomfield admits that he didn’t receive cooperation from Whitney’s family in the making of the film. The UK premiere of Whitney Can I Be Me will be beamed into over 130 cinemas on 11 June with a director Q&A and performance from The Voice 2017 finalist and former Whitney backing vocalist Michelle John.
