Caribbean Fashion Week has just wrapped up for another year and we’ve got some of the highlights. The annual fashion and entertainment extravaganza took place once again in Kingston, Jamaica and featured an array of designs from seasoned designers as well as newcomers. Caribbean Fashion Week hosted collections which included ‘The Vessel’ by Lois Samuels, while Meiling’s new ‘Parallels 2‘ collection looks set to inspire summer island wardrobes. Some of Jamaica’s most successful models including Jimmy Choo campaign star Jeneil Williams and Vogue cover girl Alicia Burke – the midwife turned model Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, and Dolce & Gabbana can’t get enough of – returned to the runway.
One of the highlights of the event was the debut collection from Afrobeats sensation FUSE ODG who unveiled his new line NANA. The platinum-selling artist also performed at the event, as well as US R&B singer Ashanti, who delighted the audience with her hit singles. Caribbean Fashion Week is a preeminent event designed to showcase and celebrate the talent within the Caribbean along with the wider African diaspora.
